Historic clean energy investment bill signed into law
MINNEAPOLIS, MINN – On Tuesday this week President Biden signed into the law the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. This bill is the result of years of work by clean energy businesses, advocates, nonprofits, and government agencies to pass legislation that is expected to slash greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030. In response to the bill’s signing Clean Energy Economy MN’s Executive Director Gregg Mast released the following statement:
“This is an extremely exciting time to be working in clean energy. The Inflation Reduction Act will provide a decade of certainty for businesses to make massive clean energy investments that will spur significant job creation, drive down costs for energy consumers and bolster energy security for all Americans,” says Gregg Mast. “This week we celebrate, next week we get back to work preparing the state of Minnesota and its citizens to fully leverage this historic clean energy investment.”
