MINNEAPOLIS (6/26/2025) — Clean Energy Economy MN (CEEM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Molly Malone to its Board of Directors. Malone brings a wealth of experience in public policy, rural economic development, and clean energy advocacy to advance CEEM’s mission and achieve the organization’s goal of 100,000 clean energy jobs in Minnesota by 2030.

Molly serves as a Local and Community Affairs lead at Invenergy, a global developer and operator of sustainable energy solutions. Based in Greater Minnesota, she leads community engagement for renewable energy projects in Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota, building trust and partnerships with landowners, local governments, and residents.

She also brings extensive public service experience as a former Murray County Commissioner, where she held leadership roles as board chair and vice chair. Her service spans a range of local and regional committees focused on environmental stewardship, economic development, and infrastructure, including the Rural Minnesota Energy Board and the Association of Minnesota Counties’ Environment and Natural Resources Committee.

“I’m honored to join CEEM’s Board of Directors and contribute to an organization that’s advancing smart, forward-looking energy solutions across Minnesota,” said Malone. “As someone who lives and works in rural Minnesota, I’ve seen firsthand how clean energy can create new opportunities, diversify local economies, and strengthen communities. I look forward to helping shape policies and partnerships that ensure these benefits are shared across the entire state.”

“Molly’s voice is a vital addition to our board,” said Holly Lahd, CEEM’s board chair. “She brings a grounded understanding of how energy policy and project development impact rural communities, a perspective that is essential to advancing a clean energy economy that works for all Minnesotans.”

Molly previously served as a Senior Policy Associate at the Center for Rural Affairs, where she led grassroots advocacy, research, and coalition building in support of vibrant, sustainable rural communities. She also has a background in nonprofit management and communications.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Molly to the CEEM Board,” said Gregg Mast, Executive Director of CEEM. “Her experience at the intersection of community engagement, rural leadership, and clean energy development will be invaluable as we work to strengthen Minnesota’s economy and ensure its benefits reach every corner of the state.”

Molly joins a dynamic board of leaders to help guide CEEM’s strategic direction during a critical time for energy transformation in Minnesota.
