CEEM celebrates historic passage of clean energy investments
MINNEAPOLIS, MINN – Today the United States House of Representatives passed the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 – sending the bill to President Biden’s desk for signing. The bill includes $370 billion for significant investments in clean energy technologies that are also slated to slash greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030. In response to the bill’s passage Clean Energy Economy MN’s Executive Director Gregg Mast released the following statement:
“The Inflation Reduction Act meets the moment. The last year has proven to be the most significant in terms of clean energy technology investment in United States history,” says Gregg Mast. “The investments included in this bill provide a powerful and much-needed market signal for clean energy businesses as well as profoundly important tax credits and incentives to rapidly decarbonize our homes and buildings. The creation of jobs, economic development and the energy savings this bill creates are hugely significant to all Minnesotans.”
