Inflation Reduction Act Q&A
The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 represents the greatest expansion ever in clean energy financing and incentives for renewable energy development. Todd Taylor and Jeremy Kalin of Avisen Legal (CEEM’s legal counsel) will share an overview of the expanded Investment Tax Credits, new technology-specific tax credits and other exciting developments of the IRA – with the bulk of the time reserved for an “Ask Me Anything” session where CEEM members can pick the brains of Avisen Legal’s experienced clean energy financing advisors and attorneys.

Todd Taylor
Todd Taylor is a business attorney and has worked in every Midwest state on biofuel, biogas/RNG, solar, hydrogen and other energy projects. Todd has also worked with many value-added agriculture companies and projects and even a large cattle feedlot in North Dakota that airlifted cattle to Ukraine. Todd focus’s almost exclusively on renewable energy and sustainability companies and projects.

Jeremy Kalin
Jeremy Kalin is a clean energy finance attorney and advisor at Avisen Legal in Minneapolis, where he co-leads Avisen’s Impact Counsel practice and leads the firm’s solar practice.
Over his two decades in the clean energy industry, Jeremy has facilitated more than $600 Million in energy efficiency and solar projects in underserved markets, and helped build at least four new billion-dollar financing tools. Jeremy served two terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives and served as the state legislative liaison for the White House climate and clean energy team. He has advised Secretaries of Energy under Democratic and Republican administrations, and serves as a Senior Advisor to the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators, Rocky Mountain Institute and the Pearl Street Station Finance Lab. Jeremy has a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in ceramics from the University of Minnesota
